KEN’S QUARTER-LIFE KRISIS: ROOMIE ADVICE

cb-ken3r

I may or may not have mentioned previously that I live with my sister. Some days this simplifies our living situation, some days…it doesn’t. Half of these tips have come from issues I have taken from having a roomie. The other half have been born of my acknowledgement of my own faults. Nobody’s perfect, right? Read More…

Ken’s Quarter-Life Krisis: Travel Assistance

CB-ASSIST2

As I’ve traveled on my first business trips, it has occurred to me that my family summers in Hilton Head and spring breaks to Panama City Beach did very little in the way of preparation for work travel. Here are just a few tidbits I’ve picked up thus far. Read More…

Ken’s Quarter-Life Krisis: Immortal

cb-start5
I have the answer y’all.

I’m going to try to get my point across without sounding like your professor. Or, your mother. I will warn you though; I was a psych major. I’ve figured out the cause of the Krisis. At the heart of the quarter life Krisis is the realization that you’re not going to live forever. Nobody is immortal. Read More…

Ken’s Quarter-Life Krisis: Growing Pains

cb-dancce3

I will be 26 in two months and I still don’t consider myself a real adult. I realize that to the world at large I am – and have been for quite some time – but I just can’t wrap my head around this grown up thing.

Growing up is easy, inevitable, actually. It’s the growing in and out and forward that hurts so much. No matter what, you ARE going to get older. Eighteen comes after 17, 19 after that…

For me, adulthood didn’t come at voting age. It didn’t even come at drinking age. Adulthood has come slowly. It has been defined by changing relationships and personal growth. Growing in, if you will. Read More…

KEN’S QUARTER-LIFE KRISIS: “WHAT IT’S REALLY LIKE TO WORK FOR MYLEIK”

IMG_1850

“Success in our 20s is more about setting the table than enjoying the feast.”-Paul Angone

I know I promised to talk about what it’s been like working for Ms. Myleik Teele and curlBOX, so…here you go! I figure the best place to start is our very first meeting (begin at the beginning, right?).

So I walk into this beautiful home, full of sparkles and fur, immediately feeling like a child in a museum. Just as I’m thinking there’s no way this will work and how I wasted my ONE-day a week off, I turned and really looked at Myleik. Read More…

KEN’S QUARTER-LIFE KRISIS: WELCOME TO MIAMI!

cb-miami

Bienvenido a Miami!

(It’s cute if you sing it like the Will Smith song.)

I know I was supposed to discuss my famed boss this week, but then…Miami happened! I figured in this frigid, winter storm advisory-filled January, Miami may be the only topic you would find just as interesting as Myleik.

On one of these 9-degree days, while checking her email, Myleik proceeded to ask me, “Do you want to go to Miami? You can say no.” Yeah, right. Read More…

Ken’s Quarter Life Krisis: “The Anti-CurlBox Girl”

cb-ken5

“She’s The Anti-curlBOX Girl!”

Hey y’all. My name is Kendolyn Harris and I am Ms. Myleik Teele’s assistant. You may have seen my shoe or a fingertip in a few Instagram posts…but I’m coming out of hiding!

I’ve been going through more than a few life-altering changes over the past few months. New house, first real bills…not the least of which was quitting my comfy restaurant manager job to take a risk here at curlBOX.

Resident curlBOX blogger and mother of curlBOX TV Kim Walker dubbed me the “anti- curlBOX girl” upon our first meeting. To be honest, I couldn’t tell you who I am. Read More…
