KEN’S QUARTER-LIFE KRISIS: I STILL DON’T HAVE A CREDIT CARD

cb-kenn

I Still Don’t Have a Credit Card.

While a very significant amount of my twenty – something friends and family are getting married, having babies and buying houses…I still don’t have a credit card.

I was reminded – yet again – of my deficiency in the credit arena this morning as I sat across from a bank employee who scolded that the temporary card she was issuing me wouldn’t be necessary had I completed my online shopping with a credit card, rather than my trusty debit. Ugh. I didn’t really need the dresses anyway.  Read More…

ken’s quarter-life krisis: just breathe

justbreathe

Our office recently started reading Delivering Happiness: A Path to Profits, Passion, and Purpose by Tony Hsieh. A very large portion of the book focuses on finding your passion.

I have done a great deal of growing over the past two years. While I am far, far from the girl I was a short time ago, I am nowhere near finished yet. I still don’t know what I really want to be when I grow up and that scares me. It seems the more I focus on discovering what that might be, the further it is from my grasp.  Read More…

KEN’S QUARTER-LIFE KRISIS: WORK IT OUT

KENSWORK

Work it Out.

It’s been about four months since Victoria and I participated in our first Total Fit Challenge.

Ken’s quarter-life krisis: drinks with denise

KENDRINK

Spotting a familiar face while out and about in Atlanta is nothing new. I have lived in the metro area for over 20 years now, so I do know one or two people.

With that being said, I wasn’t terribly surprised to see an old college dorm – mate at the gym last week. We said a quick hello and I returned to my burpees and bear crawls.

The shocker came in the conversation I overheard Denise (heyyyy girl!) having with her trainer next to me.  Read More…

ken’s quarter-life krisis: on loc

KENLOC

I’ve been coveting the crazy, dope faux loc styles that are all over the web for quite some time now, and the amazing Gail Hudson (@gailhudson) has granted my wish!

The install was quite interesting to me, especially given my lack of any braiding skill outside of, well, pigtails. Gail actually braided my entire head into individual braids before covering each braid with marley hair to cement the “loc look”.

Truthfully speaking, that that big old “braid bun” that everyone does has been top of mind since I began considering the locs. So cute! My next stop was, obviously, my good friend and teacher YouTube for a little styling tutorial.

I’ve added the style tips to the advice Gail gave me:  Read More…
