4 tips to easy reversion after heat-styling

Are you having trouble reverting back to your curls after heat-styling? Here are a few tips.

1. DRENCH AND SHAMPOO WITH A HYDRATING WASH: Take a little extra time with your initial rinse. Really allow your curls to get completely drenched before you add any shampoo. Use your Lottabody Hydrate Me Moisturizing Shampoo and focus on smoothing it through your hair as opposed to circular motions. This begins the process of encouraging your curls to come back.

2. SHINGLE & FINGERSTYLE WHILE CONDITIONING: Apply a generous amount of Lottabody Hydrate Me Moisturizing Conditioner and use a shingle and fingerstyle method to work the conditioner through your hair. This motion helps restore your curl’s memory. Do this for several minutes, making sure to scrunch to encourage your curls to come back. Pay close attention to areas that remain straight because you may have a little heat damage. Focus extra attention on these areas to see if they begin to curl.

3. USE A HOODED DRYER OR STEAMER: They key to really reverting is taking the time to let your conditioner deeply penetrate the hair shaft with the help of heat. Steaming or using a processing cap works. Sit under the dryer for at least 25 minutes.

4. USE CREAMS THAT ENCOURAGE INCREDIBLE DEFINITION: If you’re having issues with straight pieces, gels will exacerbate the problem and really make them stand out. Instead, opt for creams that gently encourage your hair to curl.
